Improving air quality through a community based coalition that supports public/private partnerships to increase the use of alternative fuels and improve availability of alternative fuel infrastructure

What is Clean Cities?

Clean Cities is a locally based, industry and government partnership sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. Its mission is to advance the economic, environmental, and energy security goals of the United States by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to the reduction of petroleum consumption in the transportation sector.

In the Victoria area, Clean Cities is a program of Air Victoria —Keep It Clean, the City of Victoria ’s Environmental Services Department and the Texas State Energy Conservation Office (SECO). Clean Cities supports the objectives of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 and the Energy Policy Act of 1992.

There are more than 80 Clean Cities coalitions in metropolitan areas across the country.
